HAILEY DANZ Hailey Danz (nee Danisewicz) was already a successful sportswoman before contracting bone cancer at the age of 12. When she applied for an internship at the Chicago-based Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association in 2011 her future boss, the triathlete Keri Serota, agreed to hire her on one condition: Hailey must attempt a triathlon. She got the internship and it was that first triathlon that changed her life forever. Hailey has been a regular on some of the most prestigious podiums in racing, including silver at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
