LAUREN PARKER Australia's Lauren Parker suffered a serious accident whilst out training in April 2017, at the time she was a top age-group triathlete. A damaged spinal cord made her turn to Para Triathlon and within months her determination to return to racing saw her take the Commonwealth Games bronze in the PTWC category. A first World Cup victory duly followed in Besancon that same year, and in 2019 Parker was crowned World Champion at the Lausanne Grand Final.
