It was an emotional first Cross Triathlon world title for Felix Forissier of France as he came through a tough Ibiza course - where Arthur Serrieres' title defence was cut short with a puncture then Arthur Forissier was unseated - but brother Felix kept his cool and concentration to take the tape with a gutsy run. It had been Spain's Kevin Vinuela first out of the water by 12 seconds from Michele Bonacina, Eric Lagerstrom (USA) out third from the 1km swim before the brothers worked their way through the bike course to hit the front by the end of lap one as the leaders bunched together. The powerful Kocar then took control on the bike, Frenchman Maxime Chane briefly into silver position before Felix made another surge to move ten seconds ahead of his brother and, once out on the run, passed the Czech and never looked back, soaring to the gold, Kocar with silver 20 seconds ahead of Arthur Forissier in third. 5 May 2023 Cross Triathlon - Elite Men 169 contents
