Denmark's Simon Jörn Hansen and Germany's Merle Brunnée were crowned the 2023 Powerman World Triathlon Long Distance Champions Zofingen in September. The 39th edition of the race, one of the oldest on the international circuit, had last year's winner Melanie Maurer (SUI) taking silver and Belgian Lotte Claes claiming bronze, while on the men's race the silver went to Emile Blondel- Hermant (FRA) and Fabian Holbach (GER) the bronze. It was a first win for the 32-year-old Dane Hansen, fifth placed two years ago and a triumph that was indeed hard- earned with a new record time of less than six hours, aided by good race conditions and a revised course with less climb than in the past. The women's race was a thrilling duel between the winners of the past two years, Merle Brunnée and Melanie Maurer, the lead chopping and changing until the final kilometres when the German took control and secured her second Zofingen title. 3 Sep 2023 Long Distance Duathlon 177 contents
