SERVICES
• The LOC will work with hotels in
Edmonton to provide competitive rates for
all our participating athletes (see appendix).
• The LOC will work with a local professional
logistics company to ensure that all athletes'
bikes arrive at Edmonton International
Airport on time, ideally on the same plane
as the athlete.
• The LOC will engage global bike
transportation companies such as Race Day
Transport, to facilitate easy bike travel for
those athletes wishing to take advantage
of such services.
• Athletes will have free shuttle services
to and from the race venue including the
days leading up to the event and during
familiarizations.
• Training centres will be available for the
athletes the week preceding the races.
• Onsite bike mechanic services will be
available for the participating athletes.
• A sport and lifestyle expo will be open
daily for athletes to talk directly to dealers
and exhibitors.
• A Parade of Nations, Opening and Closing
Ceremonies will be held for all athletes.
• Entertainment, food vendors and beer
gardens will be provided at the venue and
at the live site in downtown Edmonton.
• Showers, physiotherapy and massage will
be available at the race venue.
• Each athlete will receive substantial
souvenirs as part of their race package to
commemorate the Edmonton Grand Final.
• The Shaw Conference Centre will
accommodate all event meeting rooms
and briefing venues that are off-site from
Hawrelak Park.
• The LOC will have volunteer translators
on-site for athletes needing any assistance.
