PERMITS & APPROVALS
The LOC will work with the City of Edmonton to obtain all necessary venue permits and
approvals for the event.
WATER QUALITY PLAN
The City of Edmonton water quality team meets monthly beginning in January of each year.
Water temperature will be tested starting in May and weekly visual inspection for Cyanobacteria
will continue through the summer months. The team works closely with the Government of
Alberta Health Services, which provides laboratory facilities for fast and accurate test results.
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT & POLICING
Over the past five years the Edmonton LOC has developed an excellent relationship and
understanding with the City of Edmonton community services support staff. Traffic management
will be planned and undertaken by the City of Edmonton, Traffic Operations and Police Services
in collaboration with the bike course team. The City of Edmonton opens its Emergency Operating
Centre (EOC) and works in collaboration with the Venue Command Centre enabling immediate
response to any emergency situations.
