WTSE, 2 nd Floor, 8008 104 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T6E 4E2 GET INTO THE RACE Marisol Casado, President ITU & IOC Member May 12, 2016 Dear Ms. Casado On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Edmonton WTS Local Organizing Committee, this letter is our notice to your organization of our unanimous support for our bid with the City of Edmonton to compete for the opportunity on behalf of Canada, to host the ITU Grand Final planned for 2019 Building on a phenomenally successful prior hosting experience of the GF in 2014, which was recognized for its excellence by our industry peers and the ITU, we are pleased to submit this bid. The essentials for success that were the foundation for our success in 2014 have been further strengthened. The leadership of proven industry professionals who have a record of planning and executing events of this magnitude has been retained. Sheila O'Kelly is our CEO with her hand picked team of Grand Final competition proven race organizers, operators and planners. Our value of running a venue that puts safety first for participants and spectators remains core to our approach. Our structure embraces the full range of competitors from junior athletes to parathletes to all age groups and category of event. Ability to execute in terms of financial, governance and organizational resources is rock solid. Our Board of Directors is well staffed and skilled across the dimensions necessary to provide the oversight, hindsight and insight critical to assuring the event is run with the highest of integrity and disclosure. To underscore this, we are audited annually by a third party and publish our annual report. Based on our business principles of ensuring we can execute within our means and have strong corporate partnerships, I can confirm to you, we have the resources to execute this event. The legacy we have built on our past hosting success, we continue to build so that we can sustain a strong future for Triathlon, for Canada and the City of Edmonton. This is proven with the recent City Council's decision to support the 2019 ITU Grand Final with a $2.8 Million commitment of cash and VIK services. Lastly, the critical ingredient to our success is our volunteer base that supports these events. Edmonton volunteers are second to none having handled the Grand Final before and they will be ready and well organized to support the 2019 Grand Final. The bottom line is, we are a proven, competent professional organization that is successful because of its ability to engage multiple partners across diverse interests and we have the results to show.
