Edmonton Tourism will support the 2019 ITU Grand Final with the full activation of the
Consumer Marketing channels. The channels are consumer facing with very large distribution
and include website messaging, event calendar inclusion, social media content inclusion, blog,
newsletters and industry communications.
DESTINATION ACTIVATION
Edmonton Tourism will also be leading an
initiative called Destination Activation where
community spirit is raised around major hosted
events. This initiative is valued at $50,000
and will mobilize a core group of organizations
and businesses around a plan to maximize the
impact of the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final.
These organizations include Edmonton
Destination Marketing Hotel properties,
Edmonton International Airport, recreation
centres, large shopping centres, and of course
the host venue.
A creative décor package will be developed
in coordination with the LOC and ITU, and
distributed to participating organizations. These
décor packages include posters, window decals,
tent cards, vinyl banners, elevator wraps and
larger custom decals.

EVENT SERVICING
Edmonton Tourism will connect and
recommend local service providers to
streamline the organizing process for the
LOC and ITU. Edmonton Tourism has a
large database of event service providers,
off site venues, entertainment options and
more to help reduce the time and energy
that goes into planning a major event. This
also includes the cooperative development
of itineraries and packaged activities that
participants and their families can utilize
when they are not competing.
