RACE
Oklahoma hosted the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World
Championships with an all-star list of athletes competing
for the world titles over a two-lap 4km swim, a 120km
ride into warm and humid air along the Oklahoma
countryside followed by a 30km run.
Frenchman Sylvain Sudrie and Great Britain's Jodie
Swallow both returned to the top of the podium in 2016
several years after winning their first world titles in Long

and 2012, showed a fantastic performance in Oklahoma,
finishing second with a strong bike, while third place went
to Canadian Rachel McBride.
The day belonged to France in the men's race, with
the country taking home gold and silver with a 1-2
