Canada's Matthew Sharpe and Great Britain's Emma
Pallant collected the Aquathlon honours in Penticton, both
athletes impressing as the conquered the 1km swim and
5km run course ahead of the pack.
In the women's race, Pallant was down after the swim
but made excellent time on the run, coming from behind
to earn a gutsy victory. Joining her on the podium, Delia
Sclabas (SUI) finished second among the elites to win the
silver medal to accompany her Junior World Champion
title, while the bronze went to another Brit, Jacqueline
Slack, wcollecting her second world medal in Penticton
having won silver in the cross triathlon race.
In the men's race, Sharpe earned himself a debut world
title and the Penticton crowds were treated to a home-
nation clean-sweep as compatriots John Rassmussen and
Aiden Longcroft-Harris mjoined him on the podium.
