WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Grace Norman (USA) delivered an epic comeback to earn
her second straight World Championship title ahead of
Lauren Steadman (GBR) in second and France's Gwladys
Lemoussu in third.
In the PTVI class, Australia's Katie Kelly hammered away
on the bike to become world champion for the second
time. Silver went to Spain's Susana Rodriguez, while
Melissa Reid (GBR) took the bronze.
While the women's PTS4 race had a small roster of only
three competitors, when world titles are on the line the
stakes are still high. Japan's Mami Tani and Aussie Sally
Pilbeam put up a good fight and kept the action close until
Tani established her grip on the race. Pilbeam took the
silver, Patricia Collins (USA) the bronze.
Elise Marc of France became the women's PTS3 World
Champion after leading the race from start to finish,
ahead of Anna Plotnikova (RUS) and third place Maike
Hausberger.
In the PTS2 race, Finland's Liisa Liljard grabbed her
first ever World Title, after beating one of the pre-race
favourites, USA's Allysa Seely. Britain's Fran Brown edged
out American Hailey Danz to take the bronze at the line.
Australia's Emily Tapp was the strongest PTWC female of
the day, closely followed by Britain's Jade Jones. Behind
them, an impressive Eva Maria Moral Pedrero (ESP)
finished third.
