184 WORLD TRIATHLON 2017 I MIXED RELAY & PARATRIATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Grace Norman (USA) delivered an epic comeback to earn her second straight World Championship title ahead of Lauren Steadman (GBR) in second and France's Gwladys Lemoussu in third. In the PTVI class, Australia's Katie Kelly hammered away on the bike to become world champion for the second time. Silver went to Spain's Susana Rodriguez, while Melissa Reid (GBR) took the bronze. While the women's PTS4 race had a small roster of only three competitors, when world titles are on the line the stakes are still high. Japan's Mami Tani and Aussie Sally Pilbeam put up a good fight and kept the action close until Tani established her grip on the race. Pilbeam took the silver, Patricia Collins (USA) the bronze. Elise Marc of France became the women's PTS3 World Champion after leading the race from start to finish, ahead of Anna Plotnikova (RUS) and third place Maike Hausberger. In the PTS2 race, Finland's Liisa Liljard grabbed her first ever World Title, after beating one of the pre-race favourites, USA's Allysa Seely. Britain's Fran Brown edged out American Hailey Danz to take the bronze at the line. Australia's Emily Tapp was the strongest PTWC female of the day, closely followed by Britain's Jade Jones.
