The International Triathlon Union is recognised by
the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the
world governing body for the Olympic sport of triath-
lon. ITU is the most influential organisation in the
sport and the organiser of the world's premier tri-
athlon events, including the ITU World Triathlon
Series and ITU Triathlon World Cup Series. ITU
represents National Federations in over 150 coun-
tries and its sport development initiatives are fuel-
ling triathlon's extraordinary growth from a grass-
roots to high performance level.
