Dear Ms. Casado,
Please accept our invitation to consider Edmonton as the host city for the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand
Final.
Alberta's capital city is a vibrant cosmopolitan centre of over one million friendly and spirited people. We are
extremely proud of our reputation for hosting sporting events of all shapes and sizes, as well as our
unparalleled level of service and value. We have a rich and historic past of hosting world class sporting
events and we always set the bar high for our city.
Edmonton not only provides superior venues and value, our attractions are truly remarkable. From the
greatest indoor show on earth (West Edmonton Mall) to Canada's largest living historical theme park (Fort
Edmonton Park), we have facilities and activities that wow visitors of all ages. We are proud to be Western
Canada's hub for the performing arts and host a dazzling year round calendar of festivals – earning us the
reputation of Canada's Festival City. All this and within easy driving distance to Jasper National Park in the
Canadian Rockies, ideal for pre and post travel.
Edmonton Tourism is committed to contributing to the success of the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final.
In addition to the consultative event management assistance, media engagement and accommodation
facilitation we provide, we will also include this event in our regional marketing campaign for the summer of
2019. Furthermore, we will activate our Destination Activation program, which mobilizes organizations and
businesses around major events hosted in Edmonton.
Edmonton is ready and committed to once again host this incredible event in our city. We thank you for this
opportunity and look forward to welcoming the triathlon world back to Edmonton.
Sincerely,
