BOARD & COMMITTEES // 20 Don Lowry Chair Don has been self-employed as a professional director since March 2013. Previously, he served as President and CEO of EPCOR for 15 years. Prior to joining EPCOR, Don spent more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry, including six years as President and Chief Operating Officer of TELUS Communications Inc. Don believes in giving back to the community by attracting and building a high performance WTS Board. Les Pereira President, Triathlon Canada Les is in his third year as a member of the Board of Triathlon Canada, and was elected as President in January, 2016. Prior to joining the Board he participated in the development of a strategic plan and an overhaul of the governance structure for Triathlon Canada in 2012. He has been involved in triathlon since 1998 as an athlete, coach and an official. He has competed in all triathlon distances. From a business perspective, Les has served as Chairman of a partnership in a large manufacturing company, with offices across North America. Sheila O'Kelly President & General Manager Sheila O'Kelly has been involved in the development and building of triathlon in the Edmonton area for more than 20 years. She led the team from Edmonton that secured the ITU rights to stage the 2001 World Championship. Under her direction, this was judged by the then ITU President, Les McDonald, as the "best ever World Championship." In 2014, when she led the Edmonton team to plan and implement a successful Grand Final, it was assessed by the new ITU President, Marisol Casado, as setting a new high standard for the sport's top event. Scott McKeen City Councillor City Councillor Scott McKeen was first elected in 2013 to represent Ward 6, Edmonton's greater downtown area. A career journalist, McKeen was with The Edmonton Journal for 24 years, as an award winning reporter and columnist. Scott is an avid urbanist, cyclist and Vespa scooterist who rarely makes anyone else listen to his guitar playing. Rob Smyth City of Edmonton Rob Smyth is currently the City of Edmonton's Acting General Manager of Citizen Services and has worked for the City of Edmonton for more than 20 years. Prior to his current position, Rob was the Branch Manager of Community and Recreation Facilities in the Citizens Services Department. Rob is a strong believer in fostering key partnerships and alliances to promote a healthy lifestyle for all Edmontonians. He is the ongoing link with the City, coordinating a wide range of services for WTS Edmonton. EDMONTON TRIATHLON BOARD
