LEGACY
Triathlon Legacy
Despite some name changes as it matured and grew to meet the legal and financial obligations
of the different categories of events, the drive and enthusiasm behind the event has never
wavered. The Edmonton LOC's bid to host 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final is, as always,
fully supported by the City of Edmonton.
From the outset, the LOC has remained a Not-For-Profit organization, responsible for the successful
creation of legacies for the community and the sport of triathlon in Canada. Hosting the 2019
ITU WTS Grand Final enables the Edmonton LOC to support a number of National Development
strategies in the next two Olympic and Paralympic quadrennials: 2017-2020 and 2021-2024.
Since 1998, the heart and soul of the Edmonton's ITU
Triathlon Organizing Committee has remained constant.
