Designated Hospitals
Patients with injuries/conditions requiring more than the basic care management provided at
the race site will be sent to one of two nearby tertiary care trauma hospitals within the city of
Edmonton, the University of Alberta Hospital or Royal Alexandra Hospital.
The University of Alberta Hospital is located approximately 2 km from the start/ finish area at
8440 112 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital is located approximately 8 km from the start/ finish area at 10240
Kingsway Ave NW, Edmonton, AB.
For all evacuations from the park, the standard AHS EMS policies and procedures will be followed.
Spectator Medical
Volunteers from St. John Ambulance will independently provide basic first aid to spectators and
will not require direct assistance or supervision from the medical team. The medical team will
provide assistance for life threatening emergencies at the request of St. John Ambulance.
3. DOPING CONTROL PLAN
Edmonton LOC will comply with the ITU Doping Control requirements through a contractual
agreement with Canadian Centre for Ethics and Sport which will first be approved by ITU head
of anti-doing.
4. ACCOMMODATIONS
With over 13,000 hotel rooms available, Edmonton has the hotel capacity to successfully host the
2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in our city. (See next pages for hotel information)
