ROUGHING IT ON THE BEACH
After earning silver at the 2014 Cross Triathlon
World Championships, Flora Duffy (BER) set out to
claim her first world title with a mission of authority
in the elite women's race at the 2015 Sardegna ITU
Cross Triathlon World Championships. The Bermuda
athlete commanded the race right off the bat, as
she was first out of the water and never relinquished
her lead. Joining her on the podium was Barbara
Riveros (CHI), who took silver, and Brigitta Poór
(HUN), who took the bronze.
Conquering one of the grittiest and grimiest races
of the season, Spain's Ruben Ruzafa was named
World Champion for the second consecutive year.
After overcoming a start that caused him to pull off
a come from behind effort and a tight finish, Ruzafa
prevailed to earn back-to-back titles. Following just
26 seconds later to claim his first Cross Triathlon
World Championship podium, Francisco Seranno
(MEX) finished with the silver medal, followed by
Sam Osborne of New Zealand with the bronze.
