One of the most eagerly awaited competitions of the ITU calendar, the race was was thrilling up until the last minute. Known for its unpredictability, wet conditions and last minute changes in personnel set the stage for a dramatic event which didn't disappoint. "It was awesome. It was great to race with their support and also good to put on such a spectacle for them," stated Ryan Bailie of the Australian team at the end of the relay.
