181 MULTISPORT · TRIATHLON 2015 LONG DISTANCE DUATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS A TEST OF POWER ITU and the International Powerman Association (IPA) presented the ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships for the eighth time in 2015. Reigning champions Emma Pooley (GBR) and Gaël Le Bellec (FRA) both dominated the compe- tition and were able to defend their championship titles in Switzerland over a tough 10km run, 150km bike and 30km run course. Pooley, who is an Olympic silver medal cyclist, clai- med her second consecutive title in record fashion, crossing the finish line with a lead of more than ten minutes. Julia Viellehner (GER) crossed second in order to get back on the podium for the first time since 2013, while the bronze went to Susanne Svendsen (DEN). The men's race saw Le Bellec score his back-to-back World Championship crown by finishing with a healthy lead of over four minutes after leading off the bike and into T2. Silver went to Seppe Odeyn (BEL), who had the fastest final run split of the day and the bronze was awarded to Denmark's Soren Bystrup.
