Men The PTWC para triathletes were the last class to head out on course for the final events of the day. Both fields were stacked with world- class competitors and experience leading into a Paralympic year. Japan's Jumpei Kimura clocked the fastest swim of the day followed out by Australia's Nic Beveridge, but it wasn't long before Austria's Florian Brungraber showed his strength on the bike by taking control of the race. Brungraber produced a striking final transition to dominate the run and claim the gold medal, Kimura earned the silver medal and Beveridge crossed the finish line in third. In the visually-impaired race Australia's Jonathan Goerlach continued his magnificent form from 2019 by claiming the title with professional triathlete Sam Douglas as his guide. Goerlach clocked an impressive bike split in challenging conditions to set up a blistering run, Serbia's Lazar Filipovic came across the line to earn the silver medal with Frenchman Arnaud Grandjean in bronze. In the PTS2 class, Frenchman Jules Ribstein continued his winning streak that began with victory in WPS Milan in 2019 and included World and European titles. Russia's Vasili Egorov and Mikhail Astashov finished in second and third place respectively, and Russia was once more on top of the podium in the PTS3 and PTS4 categories, with Victor Chebotarev and Mikhail Kolmakov earning the gold medals. Antonio Franko from Croatia crossed the line in second position and Japan's Hikeki Uda claimed the bronze medal in the PTS4 men's race. Guenther Matzinger from Austria was in fifth position out of the 750m choppy swim, maintained position on the bike, and then ran his way in to victory in the men's PTS5 race. David Bryant, buoyed on by home support, finished the day with the silver medal and Yannick Bourseaux from France, who clocked the fasted bike of the day in this class, took home the bronze. Women The women's PTWC was headlined by 2019 ITU World Para Triathlon Champion Lauren Parker from Australia who again was showing no signs of backing down from her untouchable 2019 world- title win to dominate the women's race, fellow Australian Emily Tapp crossing in second and an elated Margaret Ijdema from the Netherlands earned the bronze medal. In the visually impaired race, an emotional Anna Barbaro from Italy won in a time of 1 hour 22 seconds, USA's Amy Dixon earned the silver medal and Ukraine's Vita Oleksiuk produced a magnificent race to claim the bronze. In the PTS2 women's race, Japan's Yukako Hata was the one to watch as she claimed victory with USA's Melissa Stockwell, who claimed three Para triathlon World Cup golds in 2019, not quite able to deliver the power to catch Hata but thrilled with the silver medal. Spain's Rakel Mateo Uriate wrapped the podium with third place before Russia's Anna Plotnikova won gold in the PTS3 class. Germany's Elke Van Engelen was left behind in the swim before a powerful bike and run leg successfully earned her the PTS4 gold. Japan's Mami Tani did her best to chase down Van Engelen but didn't quite have the speed on the run and finished in second position. Sally Pilbeam, who earned the silver medal in the 2019 Devonport ITU Paratriathlon World Cup, was the third female across the line. Australia's Kate Doughty was running her own race to storm home to victory in the PTS5 class, Ukraine's Alisa Kolpakchy put in a fine performance to finish in second place and Petra Lovay from Hungary was awarded the bronze medal.
