HIDEKI UDA Hideki Uda had the honour of carrying the Olympic torch back in May as it travelled across Japan, and he qualified for the Paralympic start list after a brilliant win in this year's Asia Championships and bronze at WTPS Yokohama. After losing his right arm in 2013, Uda began swimming as part of his rehabilitation, before being scouted for triathlon. A regular in and around the podium places, in 2016 he finished second in Yokohama, his best Series result to date, and in 2019 he was fourth across the line on the Tokyo course during the Test Event, and will be raring to return and realise his dream of a Paralympic medal.
