PIER ALBERTO BUCCOLIERO Pier Alberto Buccoliero was in the Italian navy when an accident left him with damage to his spinal cord, after which he used sport as a key element of his rehabilitation. After national success as a rower he then transitioned to para canoeing, winning two world championships. The next challenge was to be triathlon and, after his first two Para World Cups, Buccoliero scored a brilliant bronze at the 2017 Grand Final Rotterdam, a result he repeated at the Tokyo Test Event in 2019.
