CARLOS RAFAEL VIANA The Brazilian national para triathlon champion and Para Athlete of the year Carlos Viana is one of the bright young stars of the PTS5 category. Born without a lower left arm, the 22-year-old made his national competition debut back in 2014 and two years later was on the World Championship start line in Rotterdam aged just 17. A regular on the circuit ever since, Viana scooped a first Para Cup win in Funchal in 2019 and has been training in Portugal ahead of his Paralympic debut in Tokyo.
