ATSUKO MARUO HIDEKO KIKUCHI (GUIDE) Atsuko Maruo lost sight of her left eye at the age of three, due to cataracts. Her right eyesight has also deteriorated. Maruo started Para Triathlon in 2013 and made her Paralympic debut at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, finishing in 9th place. Maruo is excited about representing Japan at the Tokyo 2020 and participating at a home Paralympic Games.
