RITA CUCCURU At 17 Rita Cuccuru lost the use of her legs due to an accident. After overcoming adversity she returned to embrace sport more fiercely than before and launched herself into para triathlon. After winning the gold medal in 2021 World Triathlon Para Cup Besancon and qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, her goal of becoming a Paralympian was in sight. She earned the bronze medal in the recent 2021 World Triathlon Para Cup A Coruna and will line up in Tokyo with her sights on the podium.
