NIC BEVERIDGE At the age of 17, Nic Beveridge woke to find himself paralysed from the waist down, the sudden result of transverse myelitis, a neurological disorder that had caused inflammation to his spinal cord. Inspired by a segment on a leg amputee who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro that was shown during London 2012, he searched for para sport and discovered triathlon. Inspired by Bill Chaffy, Nic competed in his first World Championships a year later and worked his way up the sport, winning back-to-back World Cups in Sarasota and Devonport after winning Commonwealth Games silver in 2018.
