JIACHAO WANG Wang Jiachao made his Paralympic debut as a swimmer at Athens 2004 aged just 13 and went on to win gold, four silvers and bronze before retiring to focus on postgrad studies. After its Games debut at Rio 2016, however, Wang took up para triathlon with another dream of representing his country and is the sole team member of the Chinese delegation at Tokyo 2020. Having lost his left arm at the age of five after getting electrocuted, his Paralympic journey is a remarkable one, and he lines up in Tokyo after finishing runner up in the 2019 World Championships, his last race on the blue carpet.
