The 5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run course in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, was fast and flat, and there was no pause for breath as the athletes attacked from the outset, only for Emma Pallant and Zsanett Bragmayer to break clear and turn it into a two-person race for the title. Bragmayer couldn't quite match the early speed of Germany's Celine Kaiser and found herself half a minute back as the first athletes headed out onto the 3-lap bike segment, but the Hungarian was able to pull up to the leaders and then rolled the dice with a breakaway that only Pallant could stay with. The Brit took her time to get the shoes on as Bragmayer set off, but Pallant timed her assault well, easing up to and beyond her rival to take the tape, Bragmayer with silver, Ai Ueda of Japan the bronze. 29 Apr 2023 Duathlon - Elite Women 157 contents
