27 May 2023 Elite Men Yee strikes again in Cagliari Alex Yee recovered from a beach-start-stumble in Cagliari to take his second Series win of 2023. Despite the early misstep, Yee was out of the two-lap swim in touch with rival Hayden Wilde as well as the likes of Leo Bergere and Jonny Brownlee. Jonas Schomburg was out first onto the run but caught by the marauding Yee and Wilde after 1km, who had asserted their dominance over the field and were shoulder-to-shoulder until the Brit pulled clear late on, Wilde with silver some 30 seconds ahead of Bergere and fellow French Dorian Coninx and Pierre le Corre. "That was really fun. It was a real honest race from gun to tape. I wanted to swim, bike and run hard, I want to be known as a triathlete, and this is shaping up into a good season."
