The hotly anticipated 2023 Karlovy Vary World Cup saw Italian torpedo Bianca Seregni lead the 1500m swim ahead of Therese Feuersinger, Sophie Alden, and Selina Klamt, Gwen Jorgensen just 20 seconds back. The bike segment saw Feuersinger, Alden, Klamt, and Seregni forming a quartet with a minute lead over the chasers, including Jorgensen, Tereza Zimovjanova, and Rachel Klamer, who worked hard to close the gap. Swiss athletes Julie Derron and Anja Weber joined the hunt and despite Weber's efforts to challenge Jorgensen and co on the hills, the leaders stayed together. Out onto the run it was Derron leading the early charge, Jorgensen camped on her shoulder, before hitting the detonator on lap two, only Rachel Klamer able to go with her and the two locked into battle all the way to the blue carpet, Jorgensen taking the tape, Gomez-Goggel with bronze. 10 Sep 2023 Elite Women 78 contents
