World Triathlon Para Series Swansea The 2023 World Triathlon Para Series moved to Swansea, Wales, in July where adverse weather conditions forced organisers to cancel the bike and hold the race as an aquathlon: 1-lap 750m swim and 3-lap 5km run. Jetze Plat wasn't deterred as he again dominated the men's PTWC category in Swansea, the Dutchman earning the gold medal with compatriot Geert Schipper claiming silver and Frenchman Louis Noel a hard-fought bronze. Mona Francis (FRA) raced to the women's gold, Brazil's Jessica Ferreira with silver and Great Britain's Melissa Nicholls took home bronze, 12-seconds behind Ferreira. Frenchman Jules Ribstein displayed his incredible swim-run form to triumph in the men's PTS2 category and seize gold ahead of USA's Mark Barr, Spain's Lionel Morales came with the bronze medal to round out the men's podium. Another American, Allysa Seely adapted well to conditions to ensure another Series gold was hers, Paralympic hopeful Anu Francis taking a hard-fought silver medal for Australia while Cécile Saboureau earned her first WTPS medal of 2023 with bronze. Spain's Daniel Molina was able to outsprint Nico Van Der Burgt down the carpet to earn the PTS3 gold in Swansea, Dutchman Van Der Burgt took silver and Germany's Max Gerhaar ran to bronze, Korea's Kim Hwang Tae with the fast run split of 19'53". In the women's PTS3 race, France's Elise Marc won by a 10-minute margin in an impressive victory over Sanne Koopman. PTS4 race favourite Alexis Hanquinquant had what it took to outsprint compatriot Pierre-Aontione Baele over the final stage and continue his remarkable win streak, Baele taking silver. USA's Paralympic hopeful Carson Clough produced another brilliant performance to claim bronze. After silver in Montreal, USA's Emma Meyers struck gold in Swansea, Great Britain's Hannah Moore just 8 seconds back and USA's Kendra Herber capping the podium with an impressive bronze. Paralympic champion Martin Schulz was again the strongest in the men's PTS5 field and dominated the race to take the tape. Brazil's Ronan Cordeiro ran his way into the silver medal position and Portugal's Filipe Marques, who had a brilliant swim, held on for bronze. Then it was all on the line for USA's Grace Norman, who continued her win streak with another gold in Swansea. Great Britain's Claire Cashmore returned to the blue carpet to take silver, Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champion Lauren Steadman back on the blue carpet and back in form with bronze. Great Britain's Dave Ellis was unstoppable on his way to home gold, and it was a GB one-two as Oscar Kelly hung on for gold from the marauding Thibaut Rigadeau in third. Nobody could catch Italy's Francesca Tarantello in the women's race after an outstanding swim, world champion Susana Rodriguez running out of course in her chase and settling for silver, Heloise Courvoisier of France with bronze. 138 contents
