Taylor-Brown finds form in Sardinia Georgia Taylor-Brown's 2023 season finally got firing in Cagliari, as the Brit repeated her 2022 win in the Sardinian sunshine. The tough beach swim slowed the progress of some big names including the returning Gwen Jorgensen, but Vittoria Lopes and Summer Rappaport sliced through the waves to come out ahead. A group of six formed up front on the bike, Taylor-Brown and Maya Kingma included, and pulled clearer of the chasers with every lap. There, too, was Emma Lombardi, and she joined the Brit in dropping their rivals early on in the 10km run, Cassandre Beaugrand and Jeanne Lehair picking their way through the field from the second pack. The lead trio wouldn't be caught, though, Taylor-Brown easing away from Lombardi for gold, Spivey with bronze. "It is a massive relief to be back on the podium. I was quite shocked after Yokohama, I am so used to being in the front pack on the swim… but I am so happy to be back." Georgia Taylor-Brown 27 May 2023 Elite Women 19 contents
