Norway's golden European Games run in Krakow continued into the Mixed Relay as the individual champions Solveig Lovseth and Vetle Bergsvik Thorn were joined by two more powerhouses in Lotte Miller and Casper Stornes, collectively clinching the team's third gold of the Games. Thorn, leading the first leg, showcased his strength in the Krakow streets alongside Adrien Briffod, but a Swiss equipment penalty altered the dynamics. Miller maintained Norway's advantage through the second leg, setting the stage for a stellar Stornes third leg that handed Lovseth an 8-second advantage. That was eaten up through the swim, before Lovseth and GB's Sian Rainsley pulled away at the halfway point of the run, Nora Gmur having to serve a time penalty for Switzerland and suddenly it was between Norway, GBR and Hungary with 200m to go. The Norwegian's wouldn't be denied, Team Great Britain (Barclay Izzard, Sophie Alden, Connor Bentley and Sian Rainslay) with silver ahead of outstanding bronze for Team Hungary (Gergely Kiss, Zsanett Kuttor-Bragmayer, Gergo Dobi and Márta Kropko) 1 Jul 2023 European Games - Mixed Relay 194 contents
