Yuko Takahashi wore the number one for the women's Tongyeong World Cup and had an excellent swim to emerge from the water with Zsanett Kuttor-Bragmayer, Claire Michel, and Margot Garabedian. Gwen Jorgensen and Vicky Holland were among the big names giving chase out onto the 20km bike, and the front two packs came together on lap two, 18 athletes looking to pull clear of the rest of the field. That they did, opening up more than 30 seconds of daylight behind and it was Czech Tereza Zimovjanova asking the early questions on the run and going solo with a first podium in her sights.
